C25K Week 1 Day 3

Today was Week 1 Day 3 of the C25K program that I’ve been doing. It was also a scheduled “long run” day for my 10k training and it couldn’t have worked out better! (Is it wrong that I feel like a total badass for just going out and doing 5 miles? It’s probably just the endorphins but I feel pretty awesome right now!)

We walked about a mile to the park before starting the program and then did our run/walk intervals throughout the park. I really expected the park to be packed on such a beautiful day but for the most part, it was just us.

As if finishing week 1 and going out for 5 miles wasn’t awesome enough, I am also happy to report that I conquered The Stairs of Doom *said in an evil, menacing tone* (that’s what I call them, probably not their real name but whatever).

I have this irrational fear that I’m going to run up them, twist my ankle and get a wicked compound fracture.

But not today, today I just pushed those thoughts out of my mind and powered up that hill. Yes!

Now for food, I’m starving!
